Repurpose Glass Jars July 29, 2011
Here is an easy tutorial on how to repurpose glass jars into attractive soap dispensers. I've been collecting old bottles and jars for years. I just love their shabby chic charm. Here's an easy DIY project to use some of your old jars to make a cute and useful dispenser you can use for hand soap, dish soap, shampoo, conditioner, or shower gel. What will you use to fill yours? Any jar with a good fitting lid will do. It doesn't need to be old or recycled if you don't have any you like. You can buy jam jars and lids or find a stylish jar at a kitchen store to match your decor. This is such a fun and easy project that you could make a bunch of them as gifts. Here's how you do it:
To repurpose glass jars as a soap dispenser, measure and mark the center of the jar lid. Drill a hole approximately half an inch wide, at the marked spot, pre-measured to fit the width of a soap dispenser pump. Fill the jar with your favorite liquid soap, insert the pump (trim to correct size beforehand), and you're ready to go!
