Oil Dissolves Oil :: The Oil Cleansing Method January 28, 2016
It is a well known concept in chemistry that oil dissolves oil.
Whaaat? That may sound counter-intuitive, but it's true! Like attracts like. With the oil cleansing method, you are using fresh nutritive oils to attract, bond with, and remove the dirty oils from your skin and pores. It is not oil alone, that causes blemishes. Pimples, cysts, zits, blackheads, and whiteheads are a result of largely preventable combination of factors including bacteria, hormones, the build up of dead skin cells, and the concurrence of these issues. Don't be afraid of applying the right kind of oils to your face.
We all know that our skin naturally produces oil. Well, this is because our skin needs oil to be healthy! The over or under production of oil in our skin can become like a malicious force to be reckoned with creating dry, scaly conditions or the opposite, shiny, greasy looking oily skin. The proper balance of oil is the way to achieve a healthy radiant skin tone free of excessive pimples and achieve a smoother, more wrinkle-free visage.
It's all about the balance! The right combination of plant-based oils, high in nutrients, and antioxidants help heal, protect, and moisturize your skin so that it may function properly and achieve a natural balance. The Oil Cleansing Method works so well because it feeds the skin with deeply nutritious oils while removing dirt and toxins. Have you tried my Luscious Oil Cleanser? It's a fabulous and luxurious treat in your facial care routine. The food-grade organic Olive and Argan Oils I use are positively lovely and fragrant combined with the Chamomile and Calendula essential oils. Rich in Squalene, Polyphenols, Essential Fatty Acids, Carotenes, and Tocopherals our Luscious Cleansing Oil is like food for your skin.
The concept of the oil cleansing method is that you massage nutritive botanical oils into your skin. Your pores drink up the beneficial botanicals, and the specially formulated organic cleansing oil bonds with and dissolves the dirty oil that has accumulated with along with the dirt and impurities. These environmental toxins, dirt, makeup, and sunscreen can harden with your natural sebum and cause clogged pores, blackheads, and pimples. But a well-formulated oil cleanser helps to loosen these clogged pores. Place a steamy wash cloth over your face to steam open your pores, remove the cleansing oil and built up grime along with it. Rinse well and repeat the steamy cloth 2-4 times. Follow with toner and moisturizer.
I like to make a home spa treatment out of it by massaging the cleansing oil into my skin for several minutes and letting it sit for 20-30 minutes. Massage a little more, and then rinse off with a steamy cloth. Follow with a pore cleansing mask such as our Super Detox Clarifying Cream Mask and leave that on for another 20 minutes. Remove with a warm cloth and follow with toner, serum, and moisturizer. This makes a positively lovely home spa treatment. Afterwards your pores will be clean and barely visible and your skin plump, moisturized, and glowing.
Some folks consider oil cleanser to be a pre-cleanse and follow it with another sudsy cleanser, such as my Kissed Organic Gel Cleanser to remove the extra oil which is left on the skin. I think this is a matter of personal preference influenced by skin type.
Healthy, balanced skin is beautiful, clear, and glowing. "Feed it" by using wholesome, natural products with vital botanical ingredients, like Angel Face Botanicals. You will feel the difference in the products and you will see the difference in your skin.
